5 Popular Wrinkle-Reducing Treatments

5 Popular Wrinkle-Reducing Treatments

Every year, millions of Americans turn to minimally invasive treatments to help smooth out wrinkles and lines, restoring a more youthful, more relaxed look.

With locations in Salt Lake City, Murray, Draper, Tooele, and West Jordan, Utah, ENT Specialists makes it easy to get the most advanced wrinkle treatments available, offering cutting-edge solutions for women and men who want to look as young as they feel. If you’re thinking about turning back the clock on facial aging, here are five wrinkle-reducing treatments you should consider.

Botox®

Botox is an injectable neuromodulator that decreases muscle movements responsible for many facial wrinkles. These “dynamic” wrinkles occur most often around the corners of your eyes, between your brows, on your forehead, and/or around your mouth.

Once injected, Botox blocks nerve signals between specific facial muscles and your brain. These signals usually “tell” your muscles to contract during expressions, like smiling or frowning. In turn, muscle contractions tug on your skin, forming folds and lines.

By blocking those signals, your muscles remain relaxed. No skin tugging means no lines and wrinkles can form. Our team customizes each Botox treatment for results that are smooth but natural, not stiff or “frozen.”

Injectable fillers

Injectable fillers work in several ways to reduce the look of wrinkles and lines:

At our practice, we offer several types of fillers, including collagen fillers designed to replace collagen lost due to aging. The type of filler treatment we recommend will depend on the area that’s being treated, the results you’re looking for, and other individual factors.

Skin resurfacing

Skin resurfacing reduces the look of lines and wrinkles by removing the upper layers of damaged, aged skin. Our team offers three primary types of resurfacing:

Each approach works in a similar way to remove the damaged layers of skin, triggering natural healing processes that promote the growth of healthy skin. Some treatments can also be used to remove age spots and smooth out uneven skin texture.

Implants

Implants can be an ideal solution for deeper lines and folds, “instantly” restoring lost volume and filling in wrinkles for a smoother appearance. Collagen implants use a special “matrix” designed to lift and support skin, so it looks firmer, smoother, and more youthful.

Expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) implants mimic the structure of soft tissue for natural, soft results in the forehead and cheek area. They can also be used to add volume to your lips.

Fat transfer

During fat transfer, fat cells are harvested from another part of your body (usually your belly), then processed and purified using special techniques. The resulting solution is reinjected into areas of your face to replace lost volume and fill in wrinkles and lines.

Because fat transfer uses your own fat, there’s no risk of reaction. Fat transfer can be an especially good option for the lips and mouth area. After treatment, you can expect about a third of the injected volume to become permanent.

Weall age differently, so it’s important to see a doctor who offers different types of treatment to help you look (and feel!)  your best. At ENT Specialists, our team will customize a treatment plan just for you. To get started, call or book a consultation online today.
