Types of Cosmetic Blepharoplasty in West Jordan, UT; Upper, Lower & Double Eyelid Enhancement

Blepharoplasty is a surgery that corrects defects, deformities, and disfigurations of the eyelids. Also known as an eyelid lift, it’s a procedure that has become popular in recent years. From the United States to the United Kingdom and all over the world, blepharoplasty is one of the most popular plastic surgeries performed. If you’re feeling self-conscious about your appearance, an eyelid lift can have a dramatic affect on the way your face looks. Eyelids can get tired and look puffy from time to time, but some people’s eyelids look like that all the time. An eyelid procedure can take years off your life and make you feel young and beautiful again. Eyelid surgery can often minimize or eliminate dark circles and bags but if those dark circles are due to stress no surgery will get rid of them. If skin pigmentation is the cause surgery won’t help either. Surgery will only help if the dark circles are caused by a shadow cast by eyelid fat because of how puffy your eyelids are.

Types of Blepharoplasty

• Upper eyelid surgery. This procedure is primarily used to improve vision loss and appearance of the eye due to genetics or aging. The procedure can improve eye function and create a more open, rounded appearance of the eyes.
• Lower eyelid surgery. This procedure deals with the lower lid and eyes. It focuses on wrinkle removal, correction of baggy eyes and overall appearance.
• Double eyelid surgery. This procedure is most often referenced in relation to blepharoplasty as a whole where a crease is made in the upper eyelid to create a wider, larger-looking eye.

Eyelid Surgery Procedure

You will need to have an eye exam done before the procedure to make sure your eyes are in good health. You will need to stop smoking for several weeks beforehand and drink lots of water in the same weeks to ensure you are well hydrated. You will be informed of medications you will not be able to take before surgery so there won’t be any complications. Excess skin, muscle and fat are removed during the procedure and may be redistributed to fix areas of puffiness. Injections can also be used to smooth the area under the eye. Results can take time to manifest. Be patient as it can take up to a full year to recap the full benefits of blepharoplasty. The scars are almost invisible because the incisions are very easy to camouflage in the natural creases of the eyelid skin in the lid itself. You will only be able to see them when the eyes are closed. One great thing about eyelid surgery is that it’s permanent. Unlike other cosmetic procedures, you don’t need to go back for more. The surgery is expected to last for the rest of your life and 95% of patients are very happy with the results.
