ENT Specialists is pleased to provide state-of-the-art services for voice and swallowing evaluation and intervention by way of functional video nasoendoscopy with the cutting-edge video tip scope (“chip tip”) and narrow band imaging (NBI) capabilities. NBI can help detect precancerous changes in the tissue of the larynx, pharynx, and nasal cavity earlier than with standard imaging techniques.
An NBI light uses narrow bands of blue light wavelengths to better illuminate capillaries, veins, and other vascularity in the tissue. Because precancerous tissue often contains an increased blood supply, NBI makes detection of tissue anomalies more sensitive than typical light. An NBI evaluation is provided per physician recommendation as well as with all swallowing tests and biofeedback sessions.
